Web Developer

Full-time, permanent

£30-£38k p/a, dependent on experience.

Location: Lincoln (office/hybrid)

We are a forward-thinking agency that has been producing high-quality design solutions for 30 years. We’re looking for a self-motivated and adaptable Web Developer to complement our ambitious and growing digital team.

As a key team member, you’ll collaborate closely with our account managers, project managers, and digital and design staff to provide clients with the best solutions. You will be helping us deliver some exciting and challenging projects. We are here to help support and develop you.

Our work spans branding, digital, design for print, packaging, exhibitions, and more, making a positive impact across sectors including global NGOs, agri-food, retail, manufacturing, government, and business services. The role is supported by our team of developers, including our Web Development Lead and Web Director, who provide hands-on guidance, regular check-ins, and technical mentorship to help you grow and succeed. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with all areas of the business to create engaging, functional, and high-performing websites.
  • Developing and maintaining WordPress and other CMS-based websites.
  • Bringing designs to life by accurately translating our creative designs into pixel-perfect, responsive digital experiences that meet or surpass our clients’ expectations.
  • Problem-solving and debugging, ensuring websites are properly optimised, secure, and user-friendly.
  • Quality-checking and testing your own work and that of others.
  • Supporting clients with ad-hoc updates, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.
  • Ensuring compliance with best practices in UX, accessibility, and industry standards.
  • Working on a wide variety of projects, giving you exposure to different types of clients, sectors, and brands, and learning how they work.
  • Support the broader team at all project stages.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum two years of commercial experience as a developer, ideally in an agency environment
  • A solid grounding in responsive HTML5 and CSS3, ideally familiar with SASS
  • JavaScript experience, React a plus
  • Core understanding of good user experience and accessibility
  • Familiarity with common content management systems, specifically WordPress
  • Experienced with PHP, ideally understanding OOP fundamentals 
  • Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills
  • Familiarity with Version Control
  • Worked with APIs
  • Solid communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • A team player, willing to learn, adapt, and contribute to our friendly, collaborative culture.

Hybrid Working

Optional home working for up to two days a week, the rest of the week office-based to help support and mentor junior staff and collaborate as a team.

*Available after probationary period and on agreement with line manager

Extra Holiday

We have always gifted the team an additional three days each Christmas so that the team can enjoy a longer festive break – the doors close for Christmas and open again after new year.
