Belvin Construction Building a brand...
When a client came into Optima’s meeting room eight years ago, he brought an idea, unwavering determination and a belief that he could build a successful construction company from scratch.

The Beginning
When Steve Turner walked into Optima’s meeting room eight years ago, he had career spanning decades in construction and development and felt the time was right to leave the large construction firm where he had honed his skills and start his own venture. His vision was clear: to offer a comprehensive service encompassing planning, development, and delivery. This vision crystallised into Belvin’s brand tagline: “Plan, Develop, Deliver.”
Steve’s approach emphasised certainty and clarity of costs, offering clients innovative ideas and alternatives to ensure successful project completion from start to finish. The process began with a deep understanding of clients’ briefs and evolved through collaborative efforts to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Brand Creation
During our initial discussions around the boardroom table at Optima, we brainstormed ideas for the new company’s name. After some back and forth, the result was an amalgamation of Steve’s children’s names, forming “Belvin.” This unique name had an instantly recognisable and familiar feel, setting a strong foundation for the brand.
Next, we focused on creating a brand identity that would position Belvin as a trusted business with a cutting-edge perspective. We developed a sleek, modern identity featuring a black background paired with bright yellow accents. The crafted typographic logo embodied an interesting blend of modernity and heritage, reflecting the company’s core values and aspirations. Initially, Belvin created their website using a web-building tool, which was sufficient for their early business needs, effectively implementing the brand styles.
Early Success and Growth
One of Belvin’s first large-scale projects was the refurbishment of the Duke of Wellington public house, transforming it into the new home of Optima. Our expanding team needed more space, and the neglected building, unused for ten years, required a complete overhaul. The result was spectacular, providing us with a home we love and the collaboration space we so needed.
Fast forward eight years, and Belvin has grown from a one-man operation to a thriving company with over 30 employees, a fleet of vans, and a diverse skill set. Their impressive portfolio includes high-profile projects across various sectors, such as new food stores, listed building refurbishments, housing sites, new school buildings, and private residential builds akin to “Grand Designs” houses.
The New Website
After eight years of growth and success, it was clear that Belvin needed a new, custom-built website. Their initial in-house website had served its purpose but was no longer adequate. It was basic, difficult to update, and underperformed in search engines. Optima was thrilled when Steve returned to us for this crucial project.
Our team created a beautiful, highly optimised website that accurately reflects the size and scale of Belvin today. The new site showcases their capabilities and specialisations, featuring stunning images and details of their remarkable projects. It is designed to perform well across all devices and will rank highly in search engines for relevant keywords and phrases.
Conclusion
Belvin’s journey is a testament to entrepreneurial spirit and the power of strategic branding and digital excellence. From its inception, Belvin has grown into a Lincolnshire success story, creating jobs and making significant investments in the community. Optima is proud to have been part of this incredible journey from the outset and to have contributed to Belvin’s ongoing success.
